The Special Taskforce on Domestic and Family Violence in Queensland released their report on 28 February. The report titled, ‘Not Now, not Ever’ reviewed the complex system that supports and co-ordinates responses to domestic violence. The report made recommendations to the QLD Premier as to possible system improvements, and preventative measures, based on extensive state-wide community engagement and consultation.
The Taskforce was chaired by the Honourable Quentin Bryce, former Governor-General of Australia. The taskforce also included several former Members of Parliament for Queensland, CEO of Australia’s National Research Organisation for Women’s Safety (ANROWS), Heather Nancarrow; and Commissioner Ada Panawya Woolla.
